We are happy to announce the first update to DOK 5! This update incorporates a number of changes we have been working on for several months. Client installations may be patched using the "Check for Updates" tool in the DOK application, located on the main toolbar and in the Tools menu. Server installations may be patched using the "Update" program, located in the Disk Of Knowledge program group within the Windows start menu. Please post all update related questions and bug reports to the forum.

Application Updates


  • Bug fix: Launching Internet Explorer from within the DOK no longer causes the application to crash under Windows 2000.

  • Bug fix: The "Add to Favorites" option when right clicking on a hyperlink within an html document is now functional.

  • Various code optimizations.

Content Updates


  • All html files have been updated to provide a consistent look and feel.
