Version 5.0 - The Disk of Knowledge
DOK 5.0 released in September 2004. Version 5.0 combines the best aspects of a Knowledge CD and Web Updates into a single location. Version 5.0 is designed and programmed by Craig Smith using Visual C #.NET. Articles are cataloged into CCA Categories and Sub-Categories, Document Types (file format), and Media Types (checklists, documents, schedules, spreadsheets, etc.). Articles can be located from the Index, Search or Advanced Search Feature. The index window automatically retracts giving the user a full screen view of each article inside the browser window. Articles can be tagged and added to a "favorites list" for future reference. Every article can be opened using its "native file format" with a single mouse click inside the browser window. Version 5.0 will link to the Disk of Knowledge Website (PROJNET). Every article can be saved to disk or exported via e-mail to colleagues or friends. Finally, users will be able to check for updates to both database and content through a one-time subscription and registration process via a private web database. DOK 5.0 expands the Chief's vision of a Learning Organization.
